Elsa Ruby Goodgame Added

I have now added some details of my 4th set of Great Grandparents. Elsa Ruby Goodgame has been very tricky to research so far. With many changes of name and conflicting facts on civil registration documents, it has been a bit of a struggle.

Although it requires more work to confirm, I think I have traced Elsa Ruby Goodgame’s birth to Mount Gambier in South Australia.

Anyway, have a look and let me know what you think. Maybe you will think of the very clue I need to confirm it once and for all.

  1. hi, my name is Denise, I live in NZ. My great great grandfather was Alexander Mathie , born 1845 London. He emigrated in 1871 with his family to Dunedin, NZ in 1871, with parents (Alexander and Pricilla Elleanor)and several siblings, He will no doubt be the father of your Alexander Mathie, and therefor the brother of my greatgrandmother. If i find any more info I can forward if you wish.

  3. Hello Ross. I'm so excited to find you and your blog, I am a descendant of Ivy Pearl Goodgame, older sister of Ruby, my great grandmother Gwendoline (Ivy's daughter) never knew her family as Ivy died at a young age, I was very close to my great nan, she passed away a few years ago so I'm on a quest to find her family. My email address is emmahowell@wideband.net.au. Hope to hear from you soon.

  4. Hi Ross, my name is Leanne Hyett (nee Sigston). I am researching the Goodgames in Australia. My great grandmother was Mary Goodgame who married William Henry Sigston. I do have a photo of her. Would love to know who you are getting on with Lydia’s side. I live in South Australia so can assist if you need me to contact anyone. I grew up in McLaren Flat. Lydia’s father was Josiah Goodgame who is Mary’s brother. Their uncle Josiah Goodgame was in the British Army in India and was transported to Tasmania. He later became an infamous bushranger in NSW. I am going to try and write a book on him. There is so much information in the NSW Archives that needs to be shared. Hope to hear from you soon.
    Cheers Leanne

    • Hi Leanne. As I just responded to Emma, after a long time without doing any Family History research, I am sorry to report that I have not got further at all with researching Lydia. But I have just sent you an email, and hopefully that might kick-start me into action!
