Last weekend, we took a long weekend in London. I did a work trip in Hitchin on the Friday whilst Antje and Alexander did some site seeing. I caught up with Pat McFadden and John Alexander (old colleagues/friends) at the Fullers pub at Kings Cross. It was great to reminisce and find out what all my other old colleagues were up to as well.
The next day, we all visited the Harry Potter tourist spot at Kings Cross Station and bought Alexander a magic wand. We also went to Paddington Station to visit Paddington Bear.
It was also nice to have a good old curry and a pub Sunday Roast Lunch. The Sunday lunch was also great because it involved catching up with my old friends Andrew and Kath. We worked out that it had been more than 10 years since we last had a beer together. It will not be that long before the next one (I hope)!
An email yesterday from Toni Evans prompted me to dig out an old tree that was sent to me by Barbara Evans back in 2008. This concerned a Michael GAMON who married Rachel RAWORTH in 1691/92 in St. James, Dukes Place, London. He was known to be a Goldsmith.
I have copied Barbara Evan’s tree over to my new tree in Gramps, and now I begin the slow process of cross checking this tree against my Indexes, and the new information provided by Toni.
I am slowly working through some results received from Ann Cossar of the GoONS who has been doing a Marriage Challenge for the huge St George Hannover Square Registration District in London. I am checking the results for marriages that I did not have previously, and then I will need to cross check all of them against what is available on the Find My Past website to find any errors, and fill in any blanks.
